Okay, Another Post...

Currently Reading: Starving Jesus: Off the Pew, into the World
This time I guess I’ll cover all that stuff I’ve been doing with my friends up until now and all that’s been going on with POINT.

Well, the ‘Gang’ (which I am now referring to as mainly me, DQ, VP, LJ, Jimmy, Bri, and all those younger sibs SkirtGirl93, Bekah, CG, and so on…) hasn’t really been up to so much, I guess. Bri turned 18 this March, and we all took a great delight in taking him out to Applebees for lunch. Now, I’d say 18 is a pretty special number, so DQ and I were a few weeks before trying to convince Bri into throwing some nice sort of party for himself. But, according to his character (lol) he simply told us he’d let us come up with something. Of course, I promptly and fairly warned him that if he didn’t come up with something, he might be a little surprised to see DQ and myself dressed in clown outfits running up to him with balloons in the middle of biology class. He laughed and didn’t believe us. But anyway, even though I was really joking when I mentioned the whole clown thing, I guess DQ got it in her head that really we should, so somehow I found myself later that month dressed in clown outfits, holding balloons, and making a big ruckus running down the isle, lunch-hour at Applebees. It is totally needless to say that Bri will likely need years of emotional therapy after that. Come to think of it, I probably will too…

We had Jimmy film Bri’s face the entire time we were making fools of ourselves (it's on my video blog), but it was fun anyway...

A couple weekends ago, we had all the flooring in our house delivered (I guess my mom found some really great hard-wood-floor deal online). The wood is beautiful (gunstock), inexpensive, and looks amazing in the house, and even though my dad has only a small portion of it down presently, I can tell it’s really going to look wonderful. The only problem with it was that when it was to be dropped off, ‘dropped off’ was exactly what it was going to be – like, all of it in boxes dumped in the drive-way. Thankfully, I have many strong and chivalrous (rofl) guy-friends willing to come help us out. So, Little John, Jimmy, and Bri (and of course, DQ, Bekah, and Cat Girl had to tag along…) all came over and helped with that. While they were here, my dad saw it fitting to give us all a few dance lessons to prepare us for the up-coming prom. We got lots of good pictures (need I even tell you?) all of which may be viewed on my Facebook (Merry Lisa Hat).

Now on to POINT! The classes I am taking this last trimester are ‘Thinking Like a Christian’ and film. LJ’S mom teaches TLAC (GO MRS. M!!! ***HEARTS***) so naturally, I love the class. XD I’m learning a lot, actually. Mrs. M is very original, insightful, and ANIMATED!!! Ha HA! Very, very comical. This week we’re learning about the Biblical rolls of a husband and wife. I am very excited about it. The guys in the class are not.
I took film class, I think, two years ago, but it is nothing compared to this. I am having the time of my life! DQ contributes so much with her wit and creativeness; I love her! She is SO much fun to work with! This year, instead of working on a drama like last year – an utter disaster, we are doing a sort of comedy/variety show with lots of different skits that require next to no acting, scripting, or camera-handling skills, and we call it ‘The Whatever Show. The list of skits include:

Our intro/theme to ‘Pleasant Valley Sunday’
60 Minutes Princess Edition: Life After ‘Happily Ever After’
A random, homeschool, techno dance
Wisdom from Granny
A live news broadcast
A random, homeschool mosh-pit
A biography on The Flaming Toads rock band
An Evil Dudes commercial
Our notorious ending-credits/bloopers

Jimmy and Bri don’t go to PINT because they are public-schooled, but Mrs. S, our leader, said they could come after school to film with us (HURRAH!). This was especially good because in our group we have six girls and one boy. Now, at least, we have three, even if they aren’t always willing to participate in ALL the crazy things we do…

Well, well, my hands begin to tire from all this typing (yes, I am a wimp).

Yours so very unfaithfully,

Merry
