Yes. So. As I am sure it is very apparent of my neglect of Xanga-entry-writing, I am not going to expound in it. Unfortunately, living in the middle of nowhere has its disadvantages, the most obvious of which being that there is absolutely no high-speed internet available whatsoever. And, I must say, I had high hopes for the library, but as it seems, libraries in the middle of nowhere are no exception to the lack of high-speed internet rule. *Sigh* Well, now that that’s settled, I suppose I’ll give just a general overview of how I and the rest of the family are getting along.
Presently, we are doing very well as far as healthiness goes – most of us, at least. Last week, we found out that Little Buddy (two-years-old in November) has acquired a nasty case of ringworm and pink eye! Today, Mom is going to shave his head and apply a lotion for the ringworm. And for the pink eye, we’ve been giving him anti-biotic drops, and so far, they seem to be doing pretty well. Other than that, yes, the rest of us are fine. A Quick note here, though: I’d like to ask everyone to say a prayer for my Drama Queen friend Emmy. For a while now (since around February), her heath has been gradually deteriorating. She’s been feeling very fatigued and emotional during the day and having panic attacks and heart flutters at night. She’s seen doctor after doctor and had blood test after blood test and no one seemed to know what was wrong with her. About a week ago, she had a panic attack accompanied by a severe headache in the night, and once again, her parents rushed her to the emergency room. The doctors took a CAT scan of her head and (I’m not sure about all these medical terms, just so you know) found a large cluster of blood veins in her head. Having her blood pressure spike at night was causing the cluster to swell (hence her headaches), and now the doctors are afraid if she isn’t treated, the cluster may rupture and she could very possibly die. Right now, they’re waiting for more tests as to how to proceed. Being finally admitted into the hospital because of this, the doctors had a chance to do many more tests and found she also has several heart problems (one of which may have been causing this fatigue), a thyroid problem, and a possible tumor on her adrenal glad (perhaps causing these bizarre mood swings). Please, please, keep her in your thoughts and prayers! She’s only 18 and far too young to be handling these things, although, I have to say, she’s been taking everything quite well thanks to her faith and her she and her parents are really just thankful that the doctors have finally found something regardless of its less than agreeable nature.
I’m not sure how many of you knew this already, but my grandmother passed away May 24st at the age of 64 from cancer. I went to stay with my grandpa for a while to help him plan for the memorial service (she donated her body to science) and to keep his company and keep the house for him while he got adjusted. It’s been a sort of hard time for us – we all loved Gramma very much (everyone did) and had hoped she would get better – but God has been over us wiping our tears and I am very thankful for that.
After my week with Grandpa, Skirtgirl and I were off to church camp! This was the same camp as last year, and I have to say it was equally as stimulating – maybe even more. Although, it was a little different; DQ, VP, Bri, Jimmy, and Kitty were all there this year. VP was on the worship team, so we didn’t see her very much. lol Jimmy, Kitty, and Skirtgirl were on a team (I didn’t see them much either ). DQ and Bri were on the graduating Seniors’ team d: which left me to a team by myself (well, chrisanator15 was there too, I suppose) but really that was okay. It’s sort of nice to be around people you barely know. It might be kinda contradictory, but I feel more open to share when they don’t know me. Anyway, it would take an entire other entry or two to go into any detail of the week, so maybe I’ll post about it later. But I guess I learned a ton about myself – like my spiritual gifts and things I’m not gifted at – and grew so much toward God – in prayer and worship simple awe – and grew so, so close to my friends – learning that I’m not ahead and I’m not alone. I dunno. I wish church camp was every week. lol Well, besides the fact I would get absolutely no sleep…
Summer simply flew! I couldn’t even tell you what happened or where it went. Now the weather’s getting cooler (thank the Lord), and we’re already into the school year. This year, Little Buddy and Kenna of course aren’t really doing any sort of school. S-Boy is doing a bit of preschool, and E-Man’s reading is getting better everyday. Maddy’s in the fifth grade and doing pretty well. Skirtgirl is a sophomore now and starting pre-algebra. Icky. Lol I hate algebra. I’m a senior this year, and I guess it’s going pretty well. I really like my literature, economics, and French. I was thinking about taking some classes up at the college this year, but it doesn’t look like that’s in the budget for now.
Some activities we’ve been doing…hmmm, well, there’s soccer every Friday. It’s a Christian, homeschool soccer group (very noncompetitive and moral) where all ages and teams play at once on different fields. This is very nice for us with so many kids; this way we don’t have to keep coming back on different days of the week so that each child in a different age group can play. Skirtgirl gets to play with Jimmy, Kitty and her brother Kyle, and I guess it’s been lots of fun for her. Madison’s playing, Ethan and Seth are on a team, and I get to co-teach McKenna with Brian. I taught the three-and-four-year-old class the year before last, and it was fun then, but it’s even more fun now with a friend. For those of you wondering, I’m still playing piano (although not as often) and am taking up guitar with a passion now. lol I’m still not very good, but it’ll come in time, I think.
Oh! And I almost forgot: for a long time now, we’ve been looking for a church to attend, and I think maybe we found one. I really like it a lot; the people are wonderful. It’s actually of German Baptist faith presently, but a lot of people in it have been questioning what they believe for a while now and are thinking of making some changes. They believe so many things we do and have noticed a lot of things about the church that we have also. I’m really excited about it, so I guess we’ll have to see how it works out.
Well, I guess that just about sums everything up to the present. Wow, this was kinda long. I hope there weren’t too many mistakes, because I’m not going back thru to fix them. Tee hee. Hmm, now I guess I’d better get back to my school and laundry! I love all of you!

♥ Merry
