| | From now on I am not apologizing for not posting ever. Everyone knows how bad I feel about my lazy, non-Xanga-posting, procrastinatingness.
I have no idea when it was the last time I posted, so I’m not going to kill myself trying to recap. Here are simply some main points:
I started school as a Senior in September. I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I graduate, but my friend DQ is going to a Christian, online college/clep program called CollegePlus! where you can get your bachelors degree from Thomas Edison college in two years. It is also very inexpensive (no more than $15,000 for everything), so obviously I’m checking into it. I’m thinking about majoring in English and maybe becoming and English teacher. I like this idea because it’s something I could use as a mother, while I am single, and in the mission field. But we’ll see; I’ll probably have a new vision for my life next week.
I went to Charity Youth Bible School the first week of November. I enjoyed it very much, met lots of nice young people, and made many new friends.
As for the Christmas season, here’s a little bit of what happened:
We didn’t celebrate Christmas until that Saturday because my dad was working Christmas day, but that made the suspense all the greater – that is, if I didn’t already know what I was getting. Mom and Dad paid half for a cello I got off the internet a few months back, so that was pretty much my share of Christmas presents except for a book or two and a chess set I picked out and Mom bought while I was standing there. Anyway, Friday night we (being me, Mom, Dad, and Morgan) had our annual present-wrapping time which is always very fun but hectic and leaves your back aching something awful. Christmas morning was wonderful. I loved watching everyone open their presents. Seth got a big, remote-control, race-car track thing Mom found on sale somewhere, and when he opened it, his eyes got really wide and he yelled, “Wow! Wow! Wow! I can’t belieeeeeeeve this! Wow!” It was very, very loud but very, very cute and very, very much something I would expect from a boy his age. After that, we had a big breakfast with bacon (special) and spent the rest of the day in our PJs playing cars, Lincoln Logs, listening to new Odyssey adventures, and trying to convince ourselves that we were actually smart enough to learn chess.
The next day was our Christmas with Mamaw, Papaw, and the cousins. That proceeded without any notable events except that my uncle made all of us nieces and nephews hand-made hunting knives with handles out of real deer antlers. Very sweet.
For New Years, we went back over to M&P’s and played Wii, ate tons of food, and watched the ball drop. We then immediately left because Mom was sacred if we stayed any longer, the drunk people would be out and we might die going home. The next day (after 5 hours of sleep) I went to a big youth gathering (there were, like, 200 kids) near Indiana with one of my friends, Mahriah. We went to church, had a Bible study, watched some people play volleyball, listened to some old guy who knew my dad tell me stories about his parakeet and travels around the world, ate cheesecake, played card games, and sang hymns from about 10:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night. Then I drove two hours back home. *Dies* (Btw, Skirtgirl comments that the little stars next to ‘dies’ look like snow flakes. I don’t remember what they’re called. Atrophies?? Oh well…)
Oh! Latest news: our family is expecting (yes) another baby boy!!! Yay! All of us were hoping for a little girl to end on (if this is indeed the end. Dad is sure it is at any rate), but the boys are happy. Four boys and four girls. I think that sounds about right.
Anyway, that pretty much sums it up. See you in another six months or so. ;) God bless all of you.
Merry
